Section A - Everything But The PBS Stations
Upcoming premiere broadcasts:
Saturday 15 September:
BBC Entertainment 6 and 11PM Thailand Time - The Idiot's Lantern
ABC Australia 7:30PM - The Sound of Drums, pt 2
BBC Prime 7PM CET/CAT - The Unquiet Dead
BBC Prime 7:45PM CET/CAT - Confidential Cut Down - TARDIS Tales
Sunday 16 September:
Prime New Zealand 7:30PM - Daleks In Manhattan, pt 1
Monday 17 September:
CBC Canada 8PM - Utopia, pt 1
Tuesday 18 September:
Ztele (Canada - French language) 8PM EDT - Daleks in Manhattan, pt 1
Thursday 20 September:
TV3 Ireland Late 12:30AM - The Girl In The Fireplace
Friday 21 September:
SciFi 8PM and 1AM EDT - Utopia, pt 1
Monday 24 September:
BBC One 5PM - Sarah Jane Adventures - Revenge Of The Slitheen, pt 1
CBBC 5:30PM - Sarah Jane Adventures - Revenge Of The Slitheen, pt 2
Christmas 2007:
BBC One - Voyage Of The Damned (60 minutes)
The Sarah Jane Adventures' broadcast schedule will be covered as part
of This Week In Doctor Who. The ten 25 minute episodes will air on
BBC One and CBBC. The first 2 parter premieres Monday at 5PM BST on
BBC One, with part 2 airing at 5:30PM on the CBBC channel.
CBC TV Canada http://www.cbc.ca/television has scheduled a 2 hour
finale for Doctor Who Series 3. The Sound Of Drums and Last Of The
Time Lords will air from 8PM to 10PM on Monday 24 September. Last Of
The Time Lords will probably be the edited international version,
though hopefully the full 51 1/2 minute version will go on
http://www.cbc.ca/doctorwho afterwards as part of their streaming
episodes. BTW - no episode this week only (10 September) due to a
music awards show.
Doctor Who is back on een in Belgium today http://www.een.be at 3:05PM Central European Time. Episodes are airing very sporadically - next week it is pre-empted again by sports.
BBC America http://www.bbcamerica.com is using pan and scan 4:3 copies of the Series 2 Doctor Who episodes. This is a shame because 1) the episodes were produced to work ok in a 14:9 crop, but cropping to 4:3 eliminates actually details and important bits from the screen, 2) BBC America gives shows up to 46 minutes an hour versus SciFi's 44 minutes, so these episodes will be airing either complete or more complete than on SciFi, but they will not look as good, and 3) Torchwood is airing in the proper 16:9 ratio and is being handled very well so far considering the episode lengths. Here's hoping BBC America realizes that the new version of Doctor Who should be shown in the 16:9 format that they already showed Series 1 in and they switch back ASAP, ideally before this run of the episodes is over. Episodes air at 7PM and 2AM Eastern/4PM and 11PM Pacific - with various repeats. BBC America did much better with Torchwood last weekend, as I mention in Torchwood This Week.
BBC7 http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7 is currently repeating the Big Finish
8th Doctor audios that have previously run on the digital radio
station. 2 episodes weeknights at 6PM and Midnight BST. BBC7 has
previously aired the 2003 Big Finish remake of Shada, 5 4 part
stories from the Paul McGann/India Fisher run, and 8 50 minute
episodes with Paul McGann and Sheridan Smith early this year.
Hopefully all these episodes will air. And nobody would object to
additional Who audio tales reaching BBC7. BBC7 can be heard live
online through Windows Media Player or Realplayer. Shows can be heard
through the Listen Again page for 7 days using RealPlayer.
Torchwood schedule information is included in the Torchwood This Week
column http://groups.yahoo.com/group/torchwood .
